Job Description

The Social Mobilization Officer will coordinate community engagement activities, awareness campaigns, stakeholder mobilization, and sensitization programs to support organizational objectives and increase community participation in project activities.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct community mobilization and sensitization activities
Engage community leaders, religious leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders
Support implementation of outreach campaigns and awareness programs
Facilitate communication between project teams and communities
Organize meetings, focus group discussions, and advocacy sessions
Support social behavior change communication initiatives
Prepare field reports and activity documentation
Monitor community feedback and participation levels

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Social Sciences, Public Health, Mass Communication, Community Development, or related field
Minimum of 2–4 years experience in community mobilization or NGO programs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience working in rural or community-based settings
Ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively
Good report writing and documentation skills
Ability to speak Hausa and local dialects is highly desirable
Knowledge of community engagement strategies
Experience supporting healthcare or immunization programs
